Leaves of Absence

Leaves of Absence (LOA)

Any employee who is out of work for more than five (5) days for a personal medical issue, or a medical issue for a family member, must have a Leave of Absence (LOA) request form sent in. Legally Mister Car Wash must provide certain information to them within an appropriate timeframe. A LOA request should also be sent in for any employee who is requesting an extended time off for a personal leave.  It is important that all leave time is reporting in a timely manner. Time taken off as a leave, but not reported can later affect benefit eligibility.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

The Family Medical Leave Act – The Family and Medical Leave Act is legislation, guaranteeing employees job security while they take necessary time away from work. FMLA leave is not intended for people who want a vacation and can’t be used as such. FMLA provides employees with the right to take time away from work to deal with medical issues for themselves or a family member for up to twelve (12) weeks. FMLA is unpaid and only applies to job and position protection when an employee takes time off for an approved reason.

Paid Parental Leave

In support of our commitment to be a family-friendly employer, Mister Car Wash offers eligible team members up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave incrementally over a 12-month period. For example, you might take three full weeks off immediately after the birth of a child and then decide when or if you want to use the rest.
